Myotherapy is a manual therapy that assesses and treats muscle dysfunction and pain with the purpose of restoring optimal function and movement.
Myotherapists manipulate the muscles and connective tissues to normalise muscle length, strength, tension and co-ordination between muscles, the joints they work across and the other systems of the body.
Myotherapists only use ‘soft-tissue’ techniques and do not manipulate or ‘crack’ joints. Although the techniques are applied in a specific manner, depending on each individual’s condition, myotherapy is a ‘whole-body’ treatment system that looks at how all the body segments are interacting.
